CyberWitcher recently had the opportunity to assist Geralt in setting up the computer that he (Geralt) recently bought off of Thaler for a mere 50 orens!

The Witcher is a little picky in what computer hardware and software configurations it requires to run smoothly. If you want it to run at all, you will need at minimum a computer with the following:

Minimum Operating System and Hardware:

• Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or Vista
• (Operating system must be up to date with latest fixes prior to installation)
• Intel Pentium 4 2.4Ghz or AMD Athlon 64 +2800
• 1 GB Ram for Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 2
• 1536 Mb Ram for Microsoft® Windows® Vista
• 128 MB Video RAM or greater with DirectX9 Vertex Shader/Pixel Shader 2.0 support
     (Nvidia GeForce 6600 or Ati Radeon 9800 or better)
• DirectX 9.0c compliant soundcard.

Sound cards that are not supported:

• Hercules Muse 5.1 (C-Media audio)

Video Cards not supported:

• S3 Colt
• S3 S27
• S3 S8
• Intel GMA 950 based cards

Processors that are not supported:

• AMD Duron series
• AMD Athlon XP 2400+ through 3200+
• AMD Septron 2400+ through 2800+
• Intel Celeron series

Yes, I know it hurts to have to hear this, but your Pentium III with 512K of RAM running Windows 98 isn't going to have quite as much power as you need for the Witcher. Sorry about that. But trust me, if you upgrade, you will be glad you did....
